Important year-end processing deadlines

It’s time to mark your calendars with our year-end business processing deadlines! Please note that our processing deadlines for SwiftTermSM term life insurance differ from our permanent and core term life insurance.


Permanent and core term year-end dates

  • We recommend that all underwriting requirements be received at Symetra by Friday, Dec. 3.
  • To ensure timely processing, final issue requirements for new business should be received by Friday, Dec. 17, for both daily and weekly commission schedules.
  • Symetra will continue to process and place business through Friday, Dec. 31.


SwiftTerm year-end dates

Symetra will continue to process and place SwiftTerm business through year-end. Below are processing requirements by underwriting path:

  • Instant approval: Customers are immediately emailed a link to complete the onboarding and payment process to place their policy in-force. The offer must be accepted and payment successfully completed by 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 31.
  • Accelerated underwriting: When light underwriting is needed, it may take 24-72 hours for processing. The offer must be accepted and payment successfully completed by 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 31.
  • Full underwriting: Underwriting approval may be subject to APS retrieval times, lab appointments and completion of lab processing. We recommend that all underwriting requirements be received at Symetra by Friday, Dec. 17. The offer must be accepted and payment successfully completed by 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 31.
  • Commission cut-offs for SwiftTerm are the same as all other Symetra products.

Most payments will apply immediately to the policy, but some forms of payment may take 1-3 days.
