Specified disease insurance

Financial relief when it's needed most

A cancer diagnosis, heart attack or other life-altering condition usually means unknown and unexpected costs. Specified disease insurance helps lessen the impact by paying a lump-sum benefit so insureds can concentrate on their recovery, rather than their finances.

How it works

The first time an insured is diagnosed with a covered condition after the coverage is in effect, they'll receive a one-time, lump-sum benefit equal to their plan's benefit amount for that condition, and they can spend this benefit however they choose.

Core coverage includes:
Invasive cancer
Non-invasive cancer (in situ)
Non-melanoma skin cancer
Heart attack (myocardial infarction)
Major organ failure (including failure of the heart, lung, both kidneys, pancreas or bone marrow)

Enhanced core coverage includes the above conditions, plus:
Alzheimer's disease
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
Diabetes mellitus (Type I and Type II)
