Redwood City, Calf. — (June 18, 2007) — The Peninsula Celebration Association announced today that Symetra Financial will be the first ever platinum sponsor for Redwood City’s Fourth of July celebration. The event, produced in partnership with the association, will be known as the “Symetra Family Fourth.”
This year’s events will include the 69th Annual Independence Day Parade and all-day festival in downtown Redwood City, and the culmination of the celebration: an evening fireworks spectacular above the Port of Redwood City.
Because of the partnership with Symetra Financial, the association will be able to preserve the important legacy of the city’s annual Independence Day celebration. In addition, having a national company on board helps to raise the profile of the event, bringing families, neighbors and communities closer together across the Bay Area.

This year’s festivities will once again be organized by the Peninsula Celebration Association, a non-profit organization in Redwood City run by community volunteers. Bill Anderson, a mainstay of the volunteer organization who grew-up working on the parade said, “The generous corporate sponsorship of companies like Symetra ensures fireworks are included in the city’s Fourth of July events.
