Melbourne-Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Teams with Symetra Life Insurance Company to Offer Employers Essential Benefit Health and Life Insurance
MELBOURNE-PALM BAY, Florida (March 23, 2005) The Melbourne-Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and Symetra Life Insurance Company have teamed up to help make health coverage more accessible to over 20,000 Melbourne-Palm Bay area employees and their family members. For about $80.00 per month, member employers can offer their employees a limited benefit health and life insurance policy. The Select Benefits plan provides coverage for such services as doctors office visits, X-rays, emergency room visits and hospital stays.
"With Select Benefits, we now have a program that allows more employers to help protect the health and well-being of all their eligible employees," said Lee Bohlmann, president of the Melbourne-Palm Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. "Select Benefits provides a solution for our member businesses that want to offer their valued employees some essential health benefits but cannot afford a comprehensive, major medical plan."
The Select Benefits plan is available to member businesses with one or more eligible full-time, part-time, hourly, seasonal or temporary employees. There are no limitations on preexisting conditions, no required networks and no requirements for proof of good health (except for late entrants). An example of coverage: up to $55 for a doctors office visit and $500 per day for an inpatient hospital stay.
