Symetra Financial to Sponsor Bellevue Family 4th Celebration
REDMOND, Wash. — (Jan. 18, 2005) — Symetra Financial announced today it will be the title sponsor for the 14th annual Bellevue Family 4th Celebration, held at the Bellevue Downtown Park on July 4, 2005. The event, produced in partnership by the Bellevue Downtown Association and City of Bellevue, will be known as the Symetra Bellevue Family 4th presented by Q13 FOX.
"Although the name Symetra Financial is new, we have been a Puget Sound-based employer for our entire 47-year history of providing insurance and financial services. Because of this, we have a strong commitment to this community where more than 1,000 of our employees live and work," said Al Close, senior vice president of marketing for Symetra Financial and newly appointed board member for the Bellevue Downtown Association.
"In summer 2005, we will be moving our offices from Safeco’s Redmond campus to downtown Bellevue’s Rainier Plaza (soon to be known as Symetra Financial Center). The move to our new home seemed like an opportune time to become involved in and support a major Bellevue tradition," said Close.
The City of Bellevue Mayor Connie Marshall added, "Downtown Bellevue is an exciting place to live, work and play. Symetra Financial will become one of the biggest downtown employers, further strengthening our city. Their sponsorship of our Family 4th event is an indicator of their commitment to involvement in our community and we're looking forward to another great celebration."

The Bellevue Downtown Association and the City of Bellevue have hosted the Family 4th Celebration at the Downtown Park since 1991. Bellevue's Downtown Park offers 20 acres of green in the heart of downtown Bellevue. Adjacent to Bellevue Square and the office buildings of downtown, the park is an ideal site for viewing the fireworks, enjoying the Family 4th entertainment, walking, picnicking or relaxing on the numerous benches and manicured lawn areas.
