Jennifer V. Davies
Senior Vice President, Enterprise Development
Jennifer Davies is senior vice president of Symetra Financial Corp. and its insurance subsidiaries, with oversight of enterprise development. In this role, she helps to identify and secure opportunities that increase enterprise value through expansion into new markets and lines of business.
Before transitioning into her current role in 2006, Davies had oversight responsibilities for the Life & Annuities Division, which included the Retirement Services, Income Annuities and Individual Life product lines, as well as the Medical department. Prior to that, she led the Individual Life product line.
Before joining Symetra Financial as an underwriting manager in 1992, Davies spent four years working in underwriting and claims for ITT/Hartford Life Insurance Co., and six years managing underwriting, customer service and compliance as director of insurance services for Sons of Norway.
Davies holds a variety of professional designations, including FALU, FLMI, CLU, ChFC and ALHC. She is Series 6, 63 and 26 licensed, and is a principal of Symetra Investment Services, the company’s affiliated broker/dealer.
She has held leadership positions in several national associations, including the Institute of Home Office Underwriters, the Home Office Underwriters Association and the Academy of Life Underwriting. Davies currently chairs the board for Leadership Eastside, a leadership development program that focuses on enhancing community leadership capabilities and building regional perspectives.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in English from the University of Virginia.
