This Week's Heroes

Irene Rodriguez

School: Secondary BOC
Grade: 6th - 10th
Favorite Seahawk:
Josh Brown

Her principal says:
“Irene has very high expectations and standards for her students. She is very hands-on and experimental focus on science learning and high stress on functional literacy has earned her the respect of both students and colleagues.”

Jon Granados-
Greenberg

School: The Center School
Grade: 11th
Favorite Seahawk:
Marcus Trufant

His principal says:
“Articulate, bright, enthusiastic, and wonderfully caring, Jon provides students at The Center School with a learning environment that is dynamic, relevant, exacting, and exhilarating. He goes out of his way to relate curriculum topics to his students’ lives. Jon sets high expectations for student achievement, making sure not a minute is wasted in his classes.”

Noah Zeichner

School: Chief Sealth High
Grade: 9th - 12th
Favorite Seahawk:
Matt Hasselbeck

His principal says:
“Noah fits the criteria of a Symetra Hero in the Classroom perfectly. He challenges every student to participate fully through engaging lessons and positive relationships. Noah also refuses to allow students to fail by providing a series of intervention strategies that include communicating with parents, providing mandatory tutoring and staying long hours after school to help struggling students.”
