  • It’s simple and hassle-free. There are no paper bills. They select the amount of insurance that fits their budget and pay the premiums through the convenience of payroll deduction. For example, a 30-year-old nonsmoker would get $45,092 of universal life coverage for $5 a week.

  • The whole family can be covered. Employees can elect to cover a spouse, children and even grandchildren.

  • Coverage can grow. Employees can purchase additional coverage down the line or automatically increase their death benefit by electing premium increases at predetermined intervals. Even if they develop health problems no additional underwriting is required.

  • It’s portable. If they leave the company they can take their policy with them.

  • It provides accelerated benefits. If the employee is admitted to a nursing home or diagnosed with a terminal illness, they may be able to access up to 100 percent of a discounted death benefit while they’re living.
