Being a good neighbor means bringing the community together to celebrate. It means being a responsible steward of the environment. And it means making a financial commitment to help those in need. That’s how we approach corporate giving in the Seattle area, where our company is based, and in other communities across the county.
SYMETRA BELLEVUE FAMILY 4TH
The Symetra Bellevue Family Fourth is not just a fireworks show — it’s a chance to celebrate and bring families and neighbors closer together. The Community Spotlight Pavilion at the Fourth of July event connects attendees to local nonprofit organizations and volunteer opportunities. Representatives from a broad range of organizations showcase their programs with interactive displays and talk with community residents about getting involved.

Financial support is one way Symetra gives back, but the heart of our community-building activities is our enthusiastic team of employees.
- The Symetra Service Squad is an employee-led group that cares passionately about community involvement. From collecting gifts for the holiday Adopt-a-Family program to making meals for Ronald McDonald House residents, members seek out meaningful volunteer opportunities.
- The Symetra Week of Service rallies employees to take part in company-sponsored volunteer projects. Every year, employees across the organization invest nearly 1,000 volunteer hours during the Week of Service — landscaping, mowing, cleaning and painting to enhance our community treasures.
- Symetra’s Matching Time and Matching Gift programs strengthen our employees’ charitable donations of time and resources. Symetra matches employee financial donations and volunteer time dollar for dollar, up to $500 a year.
